Who am I?
My name is Jan (aka Cross). Born and raised in Dallas, Texas, my enthusiasm for the ever-evolving tech landscape drives me to continuously learn and adapt! I've done a lot of exploring in the Computer Science sphere, from being an intern at UTD as a Cybersecurity Researcher to earning my HTML & CSS Specialist certificate. Despite that, I decided to pursue Game Development as a hobby.
Making games is a passion first and a job second. What sets me apart is my desire to create fun user experiences and to continuously iterate on my projects based on feedback. From designing appealing UIs to ensuring my games have a strong core gameplay loop, I strive for excellence. What I love most about the industry is its constant evolution. New ideas and systems emerge daily, so adapting to new technology means new experiences for me!
Game Engines and Tools
The main game engine that I use for my projects is Godot 4. Aside from being free and open source, I'm very interested in the growth and future of this game engine. For these reasons, I invested time and effort into my game development journey into Godot. With that said, I also have previous experience with Unity, the LARC Engine, and the Unreal Engine.
Another major tool I often use is Photoshop, which gives me the artistic freedom to create graphic designs, pixel art, concept art, etc. When it comes to creating videos, I use OBS to capture footage and CapCut to edit my videos.
Game Programming Certified
In my senior year at UNT, I pursued game programming and development and learned a lot. From exploring Box2D and creating physics-based games to working with a team and having a complete product made within a semester.
Logos:
When showcasing software, hosting events, or developing a brand, a unique and powerful logo can make all the difference.
Banners:
Having a social media account is the first step. Take it to the next level with a banner you can identify with.
Overlays:
Having a stream overlay will allow your footage to pop, while not being too distracting for viewers.
Top 8 Banners:
When the dust settles, it's time to announce the winners. A graphic that will captivate everyone eyes while honoring the top players is just the thing a tournament will need.
